Read along as we walk you through each update and how they might impact your brand:

Snapchat

Snapchat will now allow you to directly tag your friends in your Snapchat Stories! Unlike the tagging option before, the “@” used will now activated a “swipe up” option where viewers will be able to directly add the account tagged.

Facebook

Facebook added a Breaking news label to show current, trending events in real time.

Voice Clips

You can now add your own ‘micro podcast’ to your next Facebook post! Facebook is testing out the option of voice clips instead of the traditional text-based posts.

Job Posts

Facebook is introducing a “Jobs Dashboard” where businesses will be able to post their recent openings. Job seekers can also directly apply for the posted jobs from the information that is already listed on their profile.

Messenger Lite App Video Sharing

You can now make video calls through Facebook’s Messenger Lite app. Starting a video call is simple, here’s how you can do it yourself…

Steps to start a video call:
  • Open an existing conversation or find the person you’d like to start the chat with in your contacts

  • Click the video camera icon in the upper right corner to start a video call

  • If you’re in an audio call and would like to switch to a video call, tap the video icon in the bottom right corner of the screen – it’s that simple!

Post Scheduling Via Hootsuite

Finally! An Instagram scheduling platform that actually publishes your content directly to the app. Hootsuite is teaming up with Instagram to create a scheduling app that enables the user to create Instagram content and manage all accounts in one place. Currently, the update is only available to larger businesses, but there is talk of expanding the service to all accounts in the future!

The video tutorial below explains this feature more in detail:
